Scientists have discovered a whopping 200 million tonnes of extremely rare fuel that was hidden inside a mine that has been dubbed ‘the new Dubai’.
The incredible find was made by a team of international scientists and it could change everything we thought we knew about sources of renewable energy.
The discovery has become known as the ‘jacuzzi’, which was found at the Bulqizë chromium mine in Albania.

The ‘jacuzzi’ is a natural bubbling spring with pure hydrogen that has the potential to be used as an extractable energy resource.
While this mine has around 11 tonnes of hydrogen, its possible that the reserve is even bigger with a shocking 200 million tonnes of H2.
Michael Webber, who is one of the scientists that was part of the discovery, said: “It could really disrupt geopolitics, and in many good ways, because the hydrogen will be where the oil and gas are not. If you look for it, you will find it.”

It is hoped that natural hydrogen might actually be more common than once thought.
Geologic H2 is technically not renewable due to the fact that its production time is far longer than the extraction time but it is thought that it is likely to become a popular energy source and could become the ‘fuel of the future’.
Scientists who were involved in the study have revealed that it is too soon yet to know whether natural hydrogen will in fact play a big role in energy but it is possible that it could become a source of green energy in the future.
And that isn’t the only exciting discovery that has been made recently, as it was uncovered that the Earth’s core is rich with a reservoir of gold that could be worth a whopping $169.6 sextillion.

And to make things even better - it is leaking out through the mantle towards the surface.
New research has uncovered that there are precious metals hidden away in the Earth’s crust and scientists have literally struck gold.
In a press release from Göttingen University in Germany, geochemist Nils Messling said: “Our data confirmed that material from the core, including gold and other precious metals, is leaking into the Earth's mantle above.”

And that’s just a fraction of the gold Earth has got hidden at the core with experts saying that it might be enough to cover the entirety of land on Earth in gold that is 20 inches thick.
